- The status of health education in Germany (from an example of Niedersachsen) was surveyed in 2003as part of a study of European countries. In Germany, health education is not a separate course, butintegrated into other courses. Examples of courses (first grade through 13th grade) integrating healtheducation information included fact-teaching, sport, biology and the others. Health education consistsof six areas; nutrition, teeth and hygiene, drug abuse … prevention, diseases, sex education and safetyeducation.It is characteristic that the content of extra subjects, such as a part of "teeth and hygiene", safetyeducation and sex education in Japan is included in subjects in Germany. That means combiningintellectual and practical learning. In Germany, health education is considered essential and it isintegrated into other courses with the underlying belief changing from the school is "a place forlearning" to the school is "a place for life." 続きを見る
