Health education consistsof six areas; nutrition, teeth and hygiene, drug abuse prevention, diseases, sex education and safetyeducation.It is characteristic that the content of extra subjects, such as a part of "teeth and hygiene", safetyeducation and sex education in Japan is included in subjects in Germany. That means combiningintellectual and practical learning. In Germany, health education is considered essential and it isintegrated into other courses with the underlying belief changing from the school is "a place forlearning" to the school is "a place for life."
